Q.  Do you get to sleep any during the 24 hour shift?

A.  Yes, we do training and other duties every day but at night we can sleep.

 

Q.  What number do I call if I have an emergency?

A.  The number to call for any emergency is 911.

 

Q.  Do you get cats out of trees?

A.  No, getting cats and other animals out of trees or other places can be a big liability as well as tie up personnel and equipment that if a true emergency arose we would not be able to use as well as someone could get injured.

 

Q.  If I don’t have an emergency, what number should I call if I have a question?

A.  All non-emergency calls should be called into our station at 770-537-5788 during  normal business hours (8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.).

 

Q.  When and what can I burn in my yard?

A.  The State wide Burn Ban is in effect from May 1st thru September 30th, during this time nothing can be burned outside.  Once the burn ban is lifted, you can only burn from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and the only thing that you may burn is natural vegetation.  You can not burn any lumber, trash or any other man made material.

 

Q.  When should I change my batteries in my smoke detector?

A.  Usually twice a year, a good way to remember this is change them when the time  changes.
