Requirements: All Bremen Fire Rescue Employees are required to maintain 120 Hours of training each year. They are required to be (a minimum requirement) Georgia Certified Firefighters, Georgia Certified First Responders, and Hazardous Materials Operations Level.
Firefighters receive training both on the job (at work) and at specialized schools located all throughout the state. 120 Hours is the minimum amount of training that we are required to achieve each year. We encourage as much training as possible and feasible.
You are also required to be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent a clean criminal record and driving record and to be of good moral character.
Chief R. Clark Farr: Chief Farr has been with the City since 1972 and has performed many duties from police officer to maintenance and operations. Chief Farr has been Fire Chief since 2001. Chief Farr has many certifications and attended numerous schools.
Lieutenant Tim Collins: Lt. Collins has been with the City since 1997 and is currently the Lieutenant on A-Shift. Lt. Collins is also the Departments training officer. Tim has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, Georgia Firefighter, Fire Officer I and II, In-service Instructor, NPQ Fire Instructor I, NPQ First Responder, Hazardous Materials Operations level, Alternative Teaching Methods and other various schools and classes.
Lieutenant Ed Dye: Lt. Dye has been with the City since 1999 and is currently the Lieutenant on B-Shift. Lt. Dye is also the departments Medical Director. Ed has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, National Registered EMT-I, Paramedic, Hazardous Materials Operations level, In-Service Instructor, NPQ Fire Instructor I and other various schools and classes.
Lieutenant Jeff Attison: Lt. Attison has been with the City since 1998 and is currently the Lieutenant on C-Shift. Lt. Attison is also the Cities Fire Investigator. Jeff has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, Structural fire control instructor, Georgia First Responder, Hazardous Material Technician, Fire Officer I and II, NPQ Fire Instructor I and II, In-Service Instructor, NPQ Fire Investigator, Rope Rescue Awareness, Vehicle Extrication Technician, Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified Peace Officer, Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified Arson Investigator, Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified General Instructor, Open Water Diver, and other various schools and classes. Jeff is also a Sworn Police Officer for the City of Bremen Police Department and a member of the Haralson County Combined S.W.A.T.
Firefighter Jay Hurley: Firefighter Hurley has been with the City since 2002 and is currently a firefighter on C-Shift. Jay has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter II, Structural fire control instructor, Nationally Registered EMT-I 33761, Hazardous Materials Operations level, Public Safety Diver, Fire Officer I, Arson Investigations Level I, Vehicle Extrication Technician and various other classes and schools.
Firefighter Cory Coggins: Firefighter Coggins has with the City since 2002 and is currently a firefighter on A-Shift. Cory has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, Georgia First Responder, NPQ Hazardous Materials Operations level, Alternative Teaching Methods, Auto Extrication Technician, Fire and Life Safety Educator and various other classes and schools.
Firefighter Joseph Arp: Firefighter Arp has been with the City since 2002 and is currently a firefighter on B-Shift. Joseph has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, Alternative Teaching Methods and various other classes and schools.
Firefighter Josh West: Firefighter West has been with the City since 2004 and is currently a firefighter on C-Shift. Josh has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, EMT-I, National Registered First Responder, Hazardous Materials Technician, Rope Rescue Awareness and various other classes and schools.
Firefighter Ben Hurston: Firefighter Hurston has been with the City since 2004 and is currently a firefighter on A-Shift. Ben has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, EMT-I, Georgia First Responder, Hazardous Materials Operations Level, Rope Rescue Awareness Level, Auto Extrication Technician and other various schools and classes.
Firefighter Chad Perry: Firefighter Perry has been with the City since 2004 and is currently a firefighter on B-Shift. Chad has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, National Registered EMT-I, Hazardous Materials Technician and various other classes and schools.
Firefighter Jonathan Farr: Firefighter Farr has been with the City as a Part-Time firefighter since 2003. Jonathan fills in for other firefighters when they are in schools, sick or on vacation. Jonathan has the following certifications: NPQ Firefighter I, NPQ First Responder, Hazardous Materials Technician, Rescue Specialist, Rope Rescue Awareness, ICS/EOC, Auto extrication Technician, CERT Instructor and various other classes and schools.
Volunteer Firefighters: Volunteer fire fighters are: Jon McCorsley, Keith Goldin, Matthew Threadgill and Howard House.
